Scott Perkins and I booked our second hunt with Nhoro in Nov of 2012. We were both in search of male lions and Gordon / Juan came through again. We both managed to kill fantastic mature lions with full manes. I drew the first stalk and shot my lion on the first day and Scott took his a few days after that. It was great going on a hunt with a good friend, especially since we were going for the same species; it was like getting two hunts in for the same price. <br><br>I thought my lioness hunt was exciting last year, but the lion hunt surpassed it; I never thought I would stand face to face with a male lion that close. I was glad I had the .416 Rigby instead of the .375 H&amp;H. Thankfully there were no gun malfuntions like last year...that&#039;s the kind of excitement that you don&#039;t want. My only regret was that I wished I had more vacation to burn. <br><br>Cheers... to Good Times and GREAT FRIENDS!!! ...

I can tell you right now this bunch is top notch. Jon was my PH and he is second to none. He made sure I got trophy animals and would not settle for nothing less. The trophys I killed compared to Gordons and Wayne&#039;s were no comparison! (Just kidding) All joking aside the whole trip start to finish was excellent. Thank y&#039;all so much to Gordon Jon Wayne and all the crew looking forward to coming back as soon as possible.

We just returned from our safari with Gordon, Jon and Wayne. This trip could not have been more perfect from start to finish!!! We were able to take excellent trophies of each animal we wanted. In five days time I was able to take a Kudu, Gemsbok, two Impala, Warthog and a Zebra. The ph&#039;s were all excelent to work with and made sure that we were able to get exactly what we wanted. The camp was amazing and all the staff was second to none. They could not have made our trip any better. I truly mean that this was the "trip of a lifetime"!!! We are already planning our return to South Africa. If you are thinking of going on a safari I don&#039;t think you could find a better group to hunt with. Thanks again to Gordon, Jon and Wayne you guys were exceptional!!!!<br>Sam

Again I hunted with Gordon this past year and as usual it was the time of my life.I have hunted and shot all of the big four and so much plains game that I have lost count, but I keep going back just to hunt with him and his great trackers.Over the years my wife and I have hunted with Gordon and have become great friends with him and his wife Karen. I have hunted with several other outfitters in both Zimbabwe and South Africa and I have to say that once I started hunting with Gordon I never looked back. He is an honest straight forward PH who knocks himself out to find you the best animals possible. His lodges and tent camps are great. His staff can&#039;t do enough for you and his safari camps--all of them-- are teaming with game. Anyone thinking of going on safari could no better than hunting with this gentleman, his PHs, his staff and his different safari camps. Thanks again Gordon for putting me on to more great trophies this past year and for another great hunt.I can&#039;t wait for our next hunt together!! ...

I stumbled upon Nhoro’s website purely by accident. I was interested in shooting a lion but had no desire to shoot one over bait, much less out of a vehicle. I contacted Gordon about the hunt and he explained how they hunted lions, the proper way; that is, cutting a track and tracking the lion until you find it. The hunt was everything he told me about and more. The first day we followed a lioness for a couple of hours and she managed to slip out on us repeatedly. We finally got within 15 yards of her at one point but couldn’t get a clear shot and had to give up, because the sun was going down. The second day we cut another track and were following tracks, when all of a sudden the lioness walked out upwind within 60 yards of us. The first shot was a kill shot, but she didn’t seem to be aware of the fact. She belly crawled around a bush, saw us and poised to make a charge, but second shot in the chest dropped her in her tracks. A slight feeding issue with my rifle between the first and second shot added ... ...

This past June was my first hunt with Gordon, observing a lioness hunt in the Kalahari with a good friend; and continued on to a plains game in his Limpopo concession. The PH&#039;s were highly competent, extremely hard working and a helluva lot of fun to be around. The camps were fantastic in every respect and the food was outstanding. Gordon and Jon are the kind of first rate people that would be welcome in my elk camps. In 40 years of hunting elk and mule deer in the Colorado, Wyoming and Idaho Rockies, very few individuls have ever had that privilege extended to them. With Gordon, you meet as individuals sharing only a common bond and brotherhood of the hunt and leave as valued friends.

07/17/2011<br>Just got back from hunting Plains Game with Gordon. Stopped in to see old friends at Chanaca Camp and shot a beautiful trophy red hartebeast. All I can say is thank God for "Justice" and <br>"Johnas". The shot was a long one through some heavy brush but they were able to track it down. Then we visited one of Gordon&#039;s "new camps"/the River Camp loaded with hippo, crocs, bushbuck, waterbuck, warthogs and lots of plains game. This is an ideal place to take a wife or girlfriend. The lodge and service is 5 star. The staff is outstanding. Shot some animals. Gordon shot a beautiful bushbuck for his game room and got to try out his new rifle. Then we were on to "the Mountain Camp"--a huge 55,000 acre tented safari concession. Everyone sleeps in their own huge tent with in-suite bathrooms and varanda overlooking the valley and the mountains in Botswana. Pool, of course, huge baobub trees, baboons, game filled water hole right off the dining area. The hunting, again, is outstanding. Shot wildebeast, impala, warthog, gemsbuck, etc.--all trophy animals. Gordon won&#039;t let anyone shoot anything but trophies. While I was there a hunter from Johannesburg came to hunt ... ...

Hunting South Africa with Nhoro Safaris was truly the experience of a lifetime. Accommodations were first rate, the meals were excellent, and the staff was all very friendly. Gordon, Wayne, and Juan all worked tirelessly to help my friends and I harvest some beautiful trophies. Their respect and knowledge of wildlife, habitat, and conservation is unparalleled. I would recommend Nhoro Safaris to anyone looking for a first class African experience, and hope to hunt with them again myself before long.

Greetings from "Lord McNaughton",<br> Thanks Wayne an I suppose Gordon too for an awesome time. This was my first trip to Africa after knowning Gordon for many years I&#039;m glad I finally made it over.<br> The food and accomodations were absolutely AWESOME. I ate better while in camp than I do at home. The "tent" was more like a log cabin crossed with a canvas tent. <br> Saw lots of different game and was fortunate enough to bring a few home with me. Now i want to go back and take my bow. <br> Wayne was my PH and did a good job covering all sorts of land working to get me what i wanted. Ask him to help you with the "kudu shuffle." Pearson also did a great job helping track. An dont forget to listen for Abram and his hijinx around the kitchen.<br> Thanks again Gordon an Wayne an good lucking hunting be safe.....<br> "Lord McNaughton"<br><br> Incinerator of Impala<br> SLAYER OF SWINE<br> Crusher of Oryx<br> Zapper of Zebra<br><br>any questions feel free to email me:<br>airedale56@aol.com ...

My father took my bother and I on this trip and it was truly an awesome experience. The staff, accomidations and food was above our expectations. Especially after we taught France how to make a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Jaun and Wayne (our PH&#039;s) went above and beyond to make our experience once in a lifetime. Gordon did a great job with eveything including setting up the trip.
Gordon and Wayne you both made my trip to Africa a trip of a life time. Both my father and I took some incredible animals. Your staff went to great lengths to ensure that we were comfortable and having a great time. The accommodations and food were above my expectations. Wayne Coetsee is a great PH and I am looking forward to hunting with him again. The professionalism, dedication and persistence of Nhoro Safaris is truly amazing. They will make every effort to ensure that you harvest the animals of your dreams. I was able to take a SCI record book kudu, warthog and also harvested a great Impala. Wayne and I ran into my father and Gordon as they were making their way to the skinning shed after harvesting a great gemsbok. We were all admiring the two large white rhino approximately 75 meters away, when a herd of zebra came in at just over 100 meters. I was a little excited and nervous taking a beautiful zebra with 7 people watching and 2 rhino between us and the zebra. All told my father and I took 7 animals 6 different species.
My experience hunting and fishing in Zimbabwe with Nhoro staff was the trip of a lifetime. The countryside and wildlife were like something out of a National Geographic video. Everyday provided a new adventure and something we had not seen or done before. Evenings were spent in wonderful accomodations and the after hunt banter often precipitated rolling belly laughter. Mealtimes seemed like a throw back to colonial British times with the great food and semi formal service so far from any town. The PHs were serious and knowlegeable in the bush and great guys off the job. One of the most interesting aspects of the hunt was watching the native trackers work. It was just as exciting but more dramatic than hunting behind well trained bird dogs. It was equally rewarding,of course, to succeed in my pursuit of a cape buffalo. Anything else in my future will find this hunt a hard act to follow. ...

Nhoro provided excellent facilities and equipment. My Professional Hunter, Goeff Dollar, redefines the word professional. We saw lots of game and had many opportunities for shots. We also had the opportunity to fish the Zambezi River. Upon requesting to go fishing, Gordon promptly loaded supplies, arranged lodging on the Zambezi River, and Goeff, Doug and Myself took off. The Fishing was great and the views were incredible. Crocs, hippos, and elephants along the river provided great photography opportunities. A great experience with a lifetime of memories. Thanks Goeff, Gordon, and Rex!!

This was my first safari in South Africa. I was a little apprehensive traveling to Africa to hunt but, I established a great relationship with my PH Gordon Stark. He was highly recommended by all of his references and when we finally met to discuss hunting in Africa I was so impressed by his experience that I decided to book my 2009 hunt! When I arrived in South Africa I was well received by his staff. The accommodations were excellent and the hunting was phenomenal! The amount of trophy quality game was staggering. We took our time and stalked the highest quality of the species. All my animals scored SCI record book. I was impressed by his skills and ability to spot and stalk game. I had the trip of a lifetime and loved every minute of the experience. I am currently planning to book again with Nhoro Safaris and PH Gordon Stark. ...

Vehicles excellent, food excellent, staff excellent, accomodations excellent. Some of the hunting blinds were good but unfortunately some of the best hunting locations had the worst blinds. These worst blinds needed roofs over the top and a heavier wall fabric so that the blinds would be dark on the inside. Also the shooting holes need to be much smaller. All blinds need chairs and a place to hang your bow and need brush so that broadside shots are always taken.

My first African safari was in 1999 with Gordon and Nhoro Safaris. The experience was unforgettable.Nine years and six safaris later with Gordon and Nhoro Safaris my experience was as good or better than the first.Gordon is an excellent guide and goes out of his way to make your trip a hunt of a lifetime, everytime. The accomadatios were always first class, and the staff treated you like family. The hunting concessions were overwhelmingly aboundant with game ,with many trophies to pursue. To hunt with Gordon is like hunting with a freind, and i am glad to call him "my freind".
Mairead And Michael Comaskey

Last June, following my studies at a university in South Africa, my father and I met up in Jo&#039;burg and stayed in a luxury bed and breakfast with a friends of Gordans. We then continued up to Pietersburg/ Polokwane for the Nhoro hunt.<br> <br>We were out on our very first afternoon and were fortunate enough to see many many animals. Gordan, Duane, Johannes were excellent guides to point out the trophy animals. In fact Johannes could spot animals with the naked eye better than we could see with binoculars; it was incredible. <br><br>Michael-I am happy to say I was able to take home some beautiful trophies, regardless the hunt was a very memorable experience. I would strongly recommend Nhoro Safari&#039;s for anyone interested in large trophy plains game. <br><br>Mairead- I aggree. I had a fantastic trip and was able to get surprisingly close to magnificant animals. On top of it all the accomodation was excellent we were treated like family with feasts every night. Everyone was very friendly, making me feel comfortable on my first hunt. It is definitely a trip worth taking as many times as you can! Go for it!<br><br>-Mairead and Michael Comaskey (Malvern, PA) ...

I&#039;ve hunted Africa twice, once with Gordon and Phillip. We hunted the Zambizi River Valley for Cape buffalo and had a wonderful time. Both Gordon and Phillip went to great lengths to be certain that my hunt was a safe and successful one. Everything was carefully arranged for me by Gordon. Transportation, overnite stays in Harare, and everything else to insure I had a memerable hunt, including a nice buffalo. If you are interested in some first hand info, feel free to contact me @ rde5251@comcast.net.

I&#039;ve hunted in Africa four times and with Nhoro Safaris two of those times. I don&#039;t believe there is a better, more organized, well-equipped safari operator than Gordon Stark and his professional hunters. His hunting areas for both plainsgame and dangerous game are full of animals and they make every effort to ensure that you shoot quality, mature trophies that you can be proud of. I highly recommend Nhoro Safaris for a wonderful and unforgettable African experience.

I bowhunted with Gordon in Northwestern South Africa last October. I was sucessful in obtaining the animals that I wanted and had a great time as well. Gordon also introduced me to an old ivory hunter, Fred Everrett. I enjoyed visitng with Fred and his wife, Sue almost as much as hunting. I plan to hunt with Gordon again this October.

My buddy and I had a great typical bush country buffalo hunt of spot (a fresh spoor), walk (1 to 8 miles), and stalk, with several exciting adrenal rushes thru the thick jess. Phil was a very knowledgeable P.H. who knew the area well, and Gordon&#039;s outfitting was excellent. I hope to hunt with them again and recommend them to either a first time or experienced African hunter .
