HUNT IN TANZANIA

Climate

Tanzania’s climate is typically warm and pleasant. The dry season (June–October) is the best for hunting, with cooler mornings and evenings. The short rainy season runs from November to December, while the long rains occur from March to May.

Hunting Areas

Hunting takes place in large government concessions across Selous, Masailand, Rungwa, and western Tanzania. Each region offers distinct species diversity. Camps are tented but fully serviced, with meals, non-alcoholic beverages and laundry included.

Hunting Season

Open from 1 July to 31 December each year.

Health & Safety

Camps carry medical kits and satellite communication. Malaria prophylaxis is essential. Keep documents and valuables secure.

Travel & Accommodation

Guests are met upon arrival at Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, or Arusha and transferred to camp by charter flight or road. Camps are luxury tented setups with full service.

Customs, Visas & Insurance

A passport valid for six months is required. Visas can be obtained on arrival for most nationalities. Comprehensive insurance is strongly advised.

Documentation

Hunting licenses and CITES permits for specific species are obtained prior to the safari.

Currency & Spending Money

The Tanzanian Shilling is local currency, but USD is widely accepted. Tipping of PH and camp staff is customary.

We assist with firearm permits in advance so they are ready upon your arrival.
